B.A. '72---elementary ed, Glassboro State aka Rowan U.
M.A.'79--reading specialist, Seton Hall
from '72-'84 taught at Ford Ave. #14, Fords--Woodbridge Twp.--thanks to Norman Lunde(9th grade homeroom and Science teacher CJHS) for placing me on "the list" when he was assistant superintendent of Woodbridge Twp.!!
Will be married for 36 years to Shaun O'Regan(WHS'65); same man but 5th husband--(who says they don't believe in evolution?!!)
2 children: Brendan,26,graduated sum cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Lafayette College, living in Boston working at Ralph Lauren at Copley Square---stop in and say Hi but be sure to buy something!; Cara,23, graduated from Ramapo College via University of the Arts in Philly. Works for Apple in Woodcliff Lake, NJ---need assistance--she's your specialist!
I have also been a private tutor until I started adjuncting at Bergen Community College and Ramapo College of New Jersey. Left Bergen, stayed at Ramapo and was there for 10 years teaching Developmental Reading, Study skills and eventually, an assistant professor in the Teacher Ed program, specializing in teaching reading in the elementary grades. Also, was supervisor for student teachers. I had students whose parents graduated from CHS as well as students who graduated from there. I was pleased to have taught the niece of one of our own--Denis Ebbets!!!
The universe works in mysterious ways. If I was entering college today, I would be majoring in mechanical engineering. Now, looking back at my life, I realize I was meant to touch as many lives as I could, especially the future teachers of our country!
To all my "lowest reading group" classmates--you were inspirational in my storytelling for my future teachers! To that 6th grade teacher who told my parents I couldn't go to college because I couldn't read--you made me more determined and added to my philosophy of education and those stories again when teaching future teachers. To Mr. Lunde who believed in the girl he always called "Kathleen" even though my name is Kathe--thank you. To Erica Pascale who was my bus buddy to Elizabeth library to research our own 9th grade science report-- Mr. Lunde kept mine and sent it to me when I was teaching at Ford Ave. #14!
To all of you--Class of 1968--congratulaltions on your personal and professional accomplishments--you all deserve to be honored!!!
