Now that the data entry is complete I can expand on my bio.
My dream of flying in the USAF was abruptly ended during the eye exam. I spent my 4 years as a medical lab tech in clinics in Chicago (OHare AFB) and Tokyo, Japan (Fuchu AS).
Marilyn and I were married in a country church in Dodge Co., MN after my USAF tour and headed for ISU in Ames, IA. After 5 years at Honeywell I began a programming career and ended up at the University of Minnesota for my last 34 years of employment. Marilyn also spent 34 years at the U of M as Administrator for the Veterinary College.
During those 34 years we also raised 3 fine boys and a lovely daughter. Family camping and little league sports kept us busy for many years.
In 1969 I was introduced to barbershop quartet singing and am still singing every week with the chorus and my quartet, the Wizards of Ahhhs. My photography addiction began in 1957 with a Kodak 35mm range finder camera. Now my slide collection has been partially digitized and combined with my thousands of digital pictures on my web site. Our travels are well chronicled there.
We like to travel and spend a lot of time with the grandchildren (5). All of our kids live within 25 miles which is great for all of us.I spent 6 weeks in Denmark in 2005 and hope to return soon. I spend a lot of time with my digital photography and my computer. Marilyn said she's going to bury me with a camera. I also follow my nephew's racing exploits around southern Minnesota and occasionally to Iowa, Mo, Kansas or Oklahoma. Dirt track racing gets in your blood. When not involved in the former you might find me singing a little barbershop quartet music somewhere. Marilyn spends a lot of time growing things.
We celebrated our 50th anniversary with a cruise/land tour to Alaska and later to Idaho & Oregon in 2010. Two items on my bucket list were completed in 2012 when we traveled to Bannf, Alberta and Yellowstone NP.
