I was married soon after graduation to my high school sweetheart who I met two years earlier at South High. We were married on August 25, 1962. We will have our 50th anniversary in August. Can you imagine? Our first child was born 16 months later, and my hectic life as a young mom kept me really busy.
We later moved to Englewood where my husband was a police officer. In 1970 we relocated to the Colorado Springs area. In 1975 we moved again, this time to Ramah (40 miles east of the Springs), where I wrote a column for the local newspaper.
In 1985 we started a new adventure at the Baha'i World Center in Israel. The next seven years were spent in Haifa, a northern port city, followed by 3 years in Jerusalem. We returned to Denver in 1995, and two years later moved to Monona (a suburb of Madison), Wisconsin, to be near our daughter.
I wrapped up my career working for the State Retirement fund and a health system contractor. We have eight grandkids and will be travelling to England in September for the marriage of our oldest granddaughter.
Two of our kids live nearby, and the third live in Jakarta, Indonesia. Life had been an amazing journey. We became members of the Baha'i Faith in 1970 and have been active participants ever since. Retirement is wonderful --- My husband is a writer/lecturer and I spend a lot of time with my hobbies, grandchildren and trying to learn about growing old gracefully. Our oldest granddaughter is getting married on September 1st.
