M. Ray Jones, III is a descendant of
rugged stock. He has Irish, German,
English and Scottish heritage to be proud
of. Last names of his ancestors are:
Fagan, Brown, Walden, Frederick,
Lawrence and Caddell.
His Jones family was some of the first
settlers in the Arkansas Territory, in 1811.
His Great Great Grandfather was
Hardy Jones was a member of the
Ark.
Militia, known as the 1st Regt, Arkansas
Mounted Gunman.
Hardy Jones was
born 1802 in Lambert's Creek area,
Jefferson Co, GA, and died AFT 1870 in
Campbell, Pulaski Co, AR. He was the
son of. Jacob Jones and. Anna Herrin.
Ray’s Great Grandfather was
Jefferson Davis Jones born in Little Rock
in 1861. J.D. Jones died in 1896 in a
freak accident.
His Grandfather Marvyne Ray Jones
was a Tennessee Volunteer that fought in
the border War against Poncho Villa at
the turn of the century.
M. Ray Jones, Jr. was a World War II
veteran that was wounded in Europe and
received a Purple Heart & Bronze Star.
Ray III enjoys history and focuses on
the “War Between the States” as his
favorite part of history. He is very active
in the Sons of Confederate Veterans and
currently serves as Quarter Master in
Chief.
He as a passion for miniature
trains and has numerous in his train
room.
He enjoys traveling with his wife
and children/grandchildren. His favorite
place to visit is Walt Disney World.
He is very proud to have served in the U.S.
Army and Army National Guard for over 35
year.
