After Manchester I went to the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg where I majored in Business Administration and minored in Art History. In 1991, I moved to Raleigh, NC to manage a crafts gallery, volunteered for various non-profit organizations, and worked with the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County.
In 1994, I moved to Chicago to pursue my Masters in Arts Management at the School of the Art Institute and worked with the Illinois Arts Council.
After completing my Masters, I received a position back in Richmond with the Virginia Commission for the Arts where I worked as a Program Director for artists and arts organizations from 1997-2001.
In 2001 I moved back to Raleigh to become the Assistant Director at Artspace. Artspace is a thriving visual art center offering provocative exhibitions, inspiring educational and outreach programs, and a dynamic creative environment for over 30 studio artists. In August of 2002 I became the Executive Director and in 2015 promoted to President & CEO.
I live in West Raleigh with my husband Greg and our 5 year old black lab, Riley. Together we share a passion for an active lifestyle and love of the outdoors.
