At the age of 21, I served an LDS mission to Eastern Canada. Following that, I was the first female apprentice to become a certified printer for the Newspaper Agency Corporation (NAC) in Salt Lake City. While working there, I met and married Jerry Hyrns (from Arizona) in 1977. Being a Food Service Manager was his profession. He had three vibrant sons in their teens. After nine years at NAC, our beautiful daughter, Cynthia (nickname, Cy), was born (1980). I was thankful for the opportunity to become a full-time parent at that point. As the years rolled by, my husband and I owned and operated a railroad car diner which we refurbished in Hinckley, Utah. It was named, The Chicken House. Yes, we specialized in chicken. Great memories! During the fall of 1984, due to my health, we sold our cafe, bought a travel trailer and headed to Arizona where we spent 12 years flittering in the sun. Cynthia was a glowing 16-year-old when we returned to Salt Lake City.
