Today's Featured Biography
RUSSELL DICKISON
I went from High School straight into Bible College at Dalls Christian College, where I began studying for the ministry. I attended there for two and a half years, and then transferred to Manhattan Christian College, in Manhattan, Kansas. After being farther away from home for a while, I began to think more for myself, and find myself. I realized that church ministery was not for me, and dropped out of College.
I loved Kansas, and loved being away from home. I lived in Manhattan, KS, Topeka, KS, Lawrence, KS, Overland Park, KS, Kansas City, KS (creeping ever closer to the Missouri state line all the time...LOL).
Finally moved into Kansas City, MO in 2000. Been a Missiouri resident ever since.
I worked a lot of different jobs from waiting tables to driving a bus. Went back to college at KU more than once, and studied different things. Finally in 1990 I started working at a psychiatric hospital, and loved it. I later went back to school and got my Bachelors of Social Work degree from KU in 1996.
I have been working at Johnson Couny Mental Health (Johnson County Kansas) for 17 years. I did case management for much of that time, and then moved over to vocational work. I now work with adults who have a mental illness helping them find and maintain employment.
I met the love of my life, Chris, in 2004. We bought a house together in Parkville, MO (10 miles from downtown Kansas City, MO) later that year.
We live in the woods, so it feels like we aren't even in the city. We both love to travel, and love to hike and camp and swim and enjoy the outdoors, just as much as we love a fine dinnner, and a stroll through the local art museum. So, our life in the woods in the city works well.
High School seems so long ago! I look forward to hearing from different people from back in that time and hearing about where life has taken you as well.
God has been good to me, and I hope you can say the same as well.
-Russell

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
