Today's Featured Biography
Kathleen Rooker
Life is a shipwreck but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats.Voltaire
I like this quote because it acknowledges that life can be hard. But, it also reminds me not to forget to do a little singing along the way. My life has been like that, hard. However, those lifeboats have always been there to keep me afloat.
After high school, I did some traveling around, Houston, Victoria, Temple, and Navasota, and finally settled down in Brenham, TX.
I have been employed as a Respiratory Therapist, Administrative Assistant to a Vice President, Trade Show Manager, Office Manager, and Accounts Payable Manager. I entered college in my 40s to become a Paralegal, which I did not find satisfying at all, come to find out I don't like lawyers. Go figure. Small business owner KLR Wedding Consultant and Event Planner.
I filed for disability at the age of 60, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Sever Depression, and Anxiety. At the age of 62, I became my mother's full-time caregiver, until February of this year when she passed away at the age of 92. Life finds me active now as a NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Peer Support Group Facilitator in Brenham.
I have a beautiful daughter Rebecca, a fantastic son-in-law Terry and two wonderful and amazing grandchildren, Zane and Zoey.
And the story continues.......

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
