Today's Featured Biography

Kevin Hood

After graduating LHS, I took a few courses in the summer at USC-L then went off to USC for 4 year. I graduated with a degree in biology with nothing to do (employment). I subbed at Barr Street and in October was offered a science teaching position that I accepted. After finishing that year, I went to work for Springs in their management program (for 1 year and 1 month). During the time at Springs on 3rd shift, I began working on my MAT at Winthrop. I got my Masters in December of 1995 and began teaching jr. high and middle school science and math along with coaching basketball (and 1 year of football) in York.

I became assistant principal at Castle Heights Middle in Rock Hill in 1999 and stayed in that role for 6 years. I became principal at Hunter Street Elementary in York in July of 2005. I am still there.

During all of this, I married Belva Wilform (her mother hooked us up) in May of 1999 and we have 3 kids; Kolin 6, Kevin II aka "Deuce" 3 and Koen 21 months.
