Jacque R. Hardwick Belle-Oudry
I was born in Long Beach, Calif. Moved to Hugo Oregon in 1948, at age of 8.Went to Hugo School from 4th grade to 8th grade. Graduated in 1953. Went to GPHS, from 9th grade to 12th grade,,,graduated in 1957.
Moved to Oakland, Calif,,worked at Montgomery Wards,,,for 1- year. Then worked for the Chrysler Plymouth Dealer, in Berkeley. Through fellow employee I met Blake E., Hardwick,,,we were married in December 1960.
Worked as a clerk in various ceramic shops--till 1967. Took many classes, and am a Mayco Products Certified Teacher. Moved to Hugo Oregon, in 1967,,for one year we owned the Hugo Hitching Post-(Store in Hugo). Moved back to Oakland-worked worked for ceramic shops-(Clay Craft & DaHo Ceramics)- as a clerk and after many classes,,,a certified teacher. Moved back to Hugo Oregon in 1977, worked as a Teachers Aide, at Manzanita Elem.-until 1987. In 1990 moved from Hugo, Ore.--to Brookings Oregon.Lived there 8- years,,,and loved it,,,Blake and I knew every foot of every beach for miles north and south. Moved back home to Hugo,in 1999,,,so Blake and I could both RETIRE. Now live on Red Mountain Drive,,have an acre and a quarter,,,with Jumpoff Joe Creek running the length of the back of the property
About 2000 ,we became interested in Hugo History, have worked on Hugo History Day ever since. Have been treasurer for 5- years.
We love our place,,,and hope we can live here a long time,,,as long as we can keep up the yard up. Jacque R. Hardwick (Belle-Oudry).
