I am now retired. Following my husband, David Moyer (PCHS '57'), who was a special agent with NCIS for thirty years, I found work where I could get it. We moved very frequently. Our first move was to Puerto Rico where I learned to speak Spanish. Those of you who took French with me know how well I did with that language! This was much easier.
I taught elementary school in California and then ended up substituting in Hawaii. I was the manager of a branch of a major credit union in Scotland and then was a teller in California. When we lived in London I was on the Board of Directors of the American Womens Club of London and also organized day trips around the English countryside.
In my spare time I was a Deaconess, Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout leader and hospital volunteer. I finally got smart and joined Civil Service as an Immigration Inspector for the now defunct INS in Hawaii. After completing a sixteen week course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glencoe, GA, I worked at the Honolulu Airport until David was transferred to Washington, D.C. I then went to work as an Examiner, writing appellate decisions for USCIS, Department of Homeland Security for twenty years.
Both of our children relocated near us and we enjoy them and our two wonderful grandsons. We also enjoy living in Historic Old Town Alexandria with our two Yorkies.
