I do a lot of volunteer work. I work with an animal rescue group called HOPE and work mainly on the cat side. I can be seen at the local Petco on Weslayan-where I sometimes run into John and Linda OBlack. I have volunteered at a Christian resale shop in Bellaire for 12 years. I am responsible for all the jewelry that comes into the shop. I am President of the Houston Costume Jewelry Club and have given a number of talks on jewelry to some of our church groups. I belong to a National group and was able to go to a convention in Providence; RI.last Oct.I found out that we jewelry collectors are all crazy-but only about jewelry. I think I am busier now than I was when I worked as a nurse or when I was raising my children. I am also working on a book about cats and maybe one on jewelry.
