Columbia University 1966, then U.S. Army. I attended Infantry OCS and served one year with the 4th Division in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Worked in Boston at the Federal Reserve Bank and State Street Bank for a total of 4 years. Moved to Miami in 1973 to work for a bank holding company which ultimately failed. Worked for Barnett Banks, Inc. in FL for 15 years, last position VP Regional Director of Credit Quality. Barnett was acquired by Bank of America. Went to Hibernia National Bank in New Orleans with the former CFO of Barnett, who became CEO of Hibernia. This was a turnaround situation and I was EVP managing profit plan, M & A, etc. Involved in buying about 100 banks between Barnett and Hibernia combined. Hibernia was acquired by Capital One. Ran O'Brien Asset Management for 9 years until 2005, then retired. Daughters Ann and Susan live in the Los Angeles area, so I go there often. Also to NH in the summer and to ski in CO in the winter.
Ran the Hollywood (CA) Half Marathon on 4/7/12 with Susan, who beat me by "only" an hour. My time was 2:31:21. Beat that on 11/10/12 in Santa Barbara with 2:19:41. Most recent race was 2:23:20 starting at Venice Beach, Los Angeles. Susan ran this at my pace so we finished together. Lots of fun!
Granddaughter Azadeh (Ann's daughter) was born 11/25/12 ! Grandson Zach (Susan's son) is four.
