After leaving high school, I graduated from N. C. State (Civil Engineering and Computer Science) and Wake Forest University (MBA). While at State, I met a wonderful man Mark Russell, and we were married in 1986. We lived in Baltimore, MD for several years before returning to Rocky Mount about 17 years ago. I have worked for various firms designing and writing software in Raleigh, Baltimore, and Rocky Mount. After my last child was born, I became a full time mother to my 3 boys and 2 golden retrievers, a job I find rewarding, demanding, and very fulfilling.
My oldest son Carson is a freshman at the School of Architecture at UNC Charlotte. My middle son, Jackson, is in the 8th grade and enjoys boy scouts and playing school football and basketball. My youngest, Gibson is 12 and a very competitive young man who loves any game with a ball in it. And my husband, Mark is part owner of a small engineering/surveying firm here in Rocky Mount. When I am not involved in activities with my boys, I enjoy running several days a week (trying to keep the rolls to a minimum), molding some clay, or attending NC State football and basketball games. God has blessed me in countless ways since high school. Life is good and I am having fun, even if I am getting close to 50!
