Following graduation from RHS, I attended Louisburg Jr. College on a baseball scholarship. I transferred to Pembroke State University and played baseball there for 3 years,including a trip to the NAIA World Series in Phoenix, AZ. In 1970 I married Janie Davis and we lived in Pembroke for 2 years before moving back to Randolph Co. I tried teaching for about 2 months,but decided to leave that career to Janie!After working in furniture for a few years I applied to Piedmont Natural Gas Co. in Greensboro, and I am still with that company. Janie and I have 3 kids -Reece, Andy,and Deborah. Andy's wife - Stephanie, and Deborah's husband, Willie Duvall, complete our family. We're still waiting for grandkids, but have 2 granddogs-Copper and Gretta, along with our cocker spaniel, Macy.We're still in the Cedar Square area and are active members of Glenola Baptist Church where I serve as Deacon and Choir Director. Note: Deborah and Willie presented us with our first grandchild on July 9, 2008. Madeline Grayce Duvall (Maddi) weighed in at 7 pounds. She's a beauty and has already stolen our hearts.
