Today's Featured Biography
Andrew Love
After Graduation I attended Missouri Southern State College. I played two years of Soccer and joined the Army ROTC program. During my college years I Met my wife Amy and we were married in 1993. We had our first daughter Brianna in 1995. I graduated in 1994 with a degree in General Studies because they were closing our ROTC. I attended the Army Airborne school in 1991 and joined the Missouri National Guard as an SMP cadet. I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1994 immediately after receiving my diploma. I started in the Missouri National Guard and attended my Transportation officer Basic Course in Ft. Eustis, VA. I returned to Missouri Southern and completed my BSE in Physical Education K-12 in December of 1996. My first teaching job was as a sex education teacher in a Catholic HS in Joplin, MO. I moved back to Wentzville in 97 and became the physical education teacher at St. Patricks school. I did this for two years before I applied for and was accepted to the Active Guard and Reserve program which means that I am an active duty reservist. My first assignment was in an Army Boat Unit in Morehead City, NC, then we moved to Macon GA, then Auburn ME, from there we were sent to Anniston AL and I am currently stationed at Missouri State University (formerly known as SMS), Springfield, MO, teaching ROTC.
I have deployed to Iraq twice. The first time is while I was the Company Commander of the 619th Transportation Company in 2004. The second is while I was in Alabama in 2006. I was called up to be on a Military Transition Team (MiTT) and went over on a 10 person team and trained an Iraqi Transportation Battalion (over 300 Iraqis). I was promoted to the rank of MAJOR in June of 2007.
I have 3 children. My oldest Brianna is in 10th Grade, Monica is in 8th grade and my son Nicholas is in 5th grade. Amy and I are getting ready to celebrate our 19 year anniversary in May. I have a Masters of Logistics degree. We moved to Colorado Springs, CO in Dec of 2010. I like to stay busy with my kids numerous activities and helping out at the church especially the Knights of Columbus. I am active in several different charity groups and there never seems to be a dull moment around the house.
I also have been to Egypt (4 days after 9/11), Germany, Korea and a few other minor stops. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
