Today's Featured Biography
Brian Harker
After graduating, I went to CMSU thinking I was going to major in Business Administration. In the spring of my sophomore year, I changed my major to Geography, with a minor in Marketing, with the expectation of doing retail and commercial location analysis. Instead, I went to graduate school at Western Illinois University for a semester. I then left school and worked in retail and as a cartogrpaher. In 1996, I went back to school attending the University of Wisconsin-Madisin to become a City Planner.
I have worked as a planner for Garden City, Kansas; Gardner, Kansas; and Independence, Missouri. I now live in Independence with my wife Cara Satterfield Harker and my son Rex Christian Harker.
On July 11, 2009, I married Cara Lynn Satterfield of Independence, Missouri. She is a 1991 graduate from, and now a history teacher at, Truman High School. Cara is an an alum from the Universty of Missouri School of Journalism, an education degree from UMKC and masters degree in education from Baker University.
At 4:13 PM on October 11, 2010, Cara gave birth to our son, Rex.
