UPDATE – September 2007:

Another summer has come and gone and my family and I are still happy and healthy. My boy is now involved with flag football and fall baseball with basketball right around the corner. He tried tackle football in 2006 but didn’t like all the yelling and the numerous practices. Plus he has the same body I had at age 10 so he’s suited much better for flag football. He’s having much more fun this year.

Sydney is now in the seventh grade and is still killing me with her cell phone. I still don’t’ understand why you have to get a new cell phone when your contract is up. The old one still works but her new one is pink and her other friends have the blazer, laser or razor cell phone so she wanted the same one. Me…. I still have a cell phone the size of a World War II walkie-talkie and it still works just fine. In school, she’s doing great and she’s still involved in girl scouts, tumbling and volleyball.

Haley will turn three in January and loves to watch Dora & Go Diego Go…….CONSTANTLY!! I had the privilege of staying home with her for a couple of days and nearly stuck a fork in my head after the sixth repeat episode of Dora. At least by watching Diego I can learn a little Spanish.

My wife continues to work at a local hospital as a respiratory therapist. She’s very involved with all the kid’s activities and stays real busy recording episodes of Dora and Diego. We’ll celebrate our 15th anniversary on October 3rd so I need to come up with something good. I don’t think an Arby’s night will suffice this year.

I was really hoping I was going to have a break with my plant closing its doors. I planned on taking my severance money to enjoy the good life while staying home everyday with Haley. It then hit me that all new episodes of Dora were due out in late September so I knew I had to find something quick. The search didn’t take long and I accepted a job in Gardner, KS as a Divisional Safety Manager to begin October 8, 2007. However, a couple of weeks ago my company fired their corporate safety manager and promoted me as his replacement. That was great since it would have been a 90 mile round trip drive each day to Gardner. I now have responsibility for eight facilities and travel every week. Even though the company is based in Lisle, IL they have allowed me to stay in KC and that was the selling point. I’ll try to travel a lot over the winter and then slow things down once baseball season rolls around, since I still manage my boys’ team.

Gotta go. My daughter is yelling at me to come watch Wonder Pets.

UPDATE - February 2007:
I don't think I've updated my profile for quite some time so here it goes.

On the business front, my corporate job was downsized in May 2005 so I moved back into the health & safety manager position at the ConAgra Foods plant in Kansas City, KS. In October 2006, ConAgra Foods sold their lunchmeat division to Smithfield Foods who then started an independent operating company called Armour Eckrich. AE decided to shut down the Kansas City, KS plant so my last day should be sometime in August 2007. I plan to start my job search in May in hopes to have something in Kansas City when I'm released in August. I really don't want to move again.

On the family side of things, everything is going great. I'm managing my boys baseball team for the sixth year. He plays 10-U in the North KC Baseball League at AJ Wilson. We plan on playing in a few tournaments and possibly the State Tournament in Branson. Ryan is one heck of a pitcher. He loves to play baseball, basketball, football, golf and is now taking guitar lessons thanks to my mom buying him an electric guitar for Christmas. I'm hoping he'll sound like Eddie Van Halen one day. Right now it sounds like a freight train taking a dirt road.

My oldest daughter Sydney enjoys playing volleyball, tumbling, girl scouts and taking piano lessons. She's a typical 11 year old. She has her own cell phone that I constantly yell about. I really don't see the need to be walking around the living room and talking on the cell phone when there's a perfectly good house phone within five feet. I'm dreading the high school years already. No boyfriends yet but my subscription to Gun & Ammo starts on her 13th birthday.

My yougest daughter Haley turned two in January 2007. She's not really into sports unless you call pulling our dog around the house by his collar a sport. She enjoys watching the same movie over and over and over or watching Spongebob Squarepants. Has anyone else watched the Polar Express six times in one day? She's really a very good kid. Very seldom does she cry and she loves playing with the two oldest.

My wife continues to work at North KC Hospital as a respiratory therapist. She enjoys her job. She's very involved with all the kid's activities, which you can tell is a lot. I really couldn't ask for a better wife. Our 15 year anniversary is in October 2007 so we plan to celebrate it by going to Mexico. She mentioned something about staying at a resort called Hedonism II. Not too sure what that means.

That's about it. In August, I'll be unemployed with three kids and a wife. I'm living the American Dream.

Feel free to call me at work. Hell, I'm not doing anything but waiting for August to roll around. 913-233-3225.

--------------------------------------------- January 2005
After finishing college in 1991 I went to work for ConAgra Foods in KC KS. I worked as the plant safety manager for six years then transferred to Decker Food Company in Garland, TX in 1997. I worked there for three years then moved back to KC KS when ConAgra closed the plant. I still work for ConAgra Foods as a corporate safety manager and travel quite a bit to our site locations. Unfortunately our site locations are in small cow towns and not in large cities.

I married in 1992 and have three kids. Sydney is nine, Ryan is eight and Haley arrived January 10, 2005. Sydney loves gymnastics, cheerleading, piano and girl scouts while Ryan loves all sports and Playstation. I have managed Ryan’s baseball team the past four years and will continue to manage it this year as we play machine pitch in the North Kansas City Baseball League.

My wife, Mickey, works at North Kansas City Hospital as a respiratory therapist. She’s been at the hospital for five years now and loves her job.

I started feeling old in November 2003 so I decided to run the 2004 Spirit of St. Louis Marathon. I'll take my time to my grave but I did finish. I have no plans to run another race.

I’m looking forward to our 20th HS reunion and I appreciate the hard work everyone has already put in to organize this website plus the reunion.

I would love to hear from anybody so feel free to contact me.
