It was so fun seeing friends at the reunion this fall. We're not getting older--just better! As I approach the big "55" I think of the things I wanted to do with my life, and have decided that it's been pretty good! I've spent the last 25 years with kids between the ages of 6 and 12, and they are a kick. There are days when I CRAVE conversation with an adult, but most days, it's good. Two days after the Haiti disaster, my second and third graders presented a program called, "Peace For The Children Of One Earth." There wasn't a dry eye in the house when those kiddos sang with their innocent, sweet voices. We're collecting 'quarters for Haiti.' The younger set feel things very deeply! I pretty much love them...Mike and my girls are doing swimmingly! Mike will teach one more year of fifth graders and will then enter the ranks of retirement- all of you fellow teachers--keep going! We're hoping TRA stays in existance for a few more years! He's trying to decide between a future career as a square dance caller or as a professional whistler. (That's a joke. I should watch it. You don't know my humor anymore. It's gotten sort of strange.) Our daughter Chelsea and her husband Sangam are happy in their second year of marriage. They live in Houston, Texas where she teaches 5th grade and he is an engineer. They were home at Christmas to get a winter-dose of snow! Caitlin is a junior at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, majoring in elementary education. (Starting to see a pattern?) Both of our girls are the love of our lives, and now we have a Nepali son! You never know what will happen next! Love to all, and remember from whence we came! Heidi
