Marc Schultz

After graduating High School I entered the Army in July of 1987. I attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individualized Training to become a Combat Engineer at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. After graduation I was assigned to the 326th Engineer Battalion at Ft. Campbell Kentucky. While there I attended and graduated from Air Assault School. In 1990 I changed my Military Occupational Specialty and became a Patriot Missile Crewmember and was assigned to Alpha Battery 2-43 Air Defense Artillery in Hanau, Germany. Shortly after arriving in Germany I was deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upon redeployment I moved to 4-43 ADA in Giessen, Germany. In 1993 I moved to Ft. Hood, Texas. In 1996 I wented to Korea for a one year tour. In 1997 I was reassigned to Ft. Bliss, Texas in El Paso where I was assigned as a Small Group Instructor for the Primary Leadership Development Course until 2000. In 2000 I did a short stint as an Army Recruiter in Marion, Indiana. In 2002, I was assigned to Charlie Battery 6-52 ADA in Ansbach, Germany. In early 2003 I went to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and while there my unit shot down two of Saddam's SCUD missiles that were headed for a VIP HQ's in Kuwait. In the Fall of 2005 I returned to Fort Bliss, Texas in El Paso and was promoted to my current rank of First Sergeant. I have been a First Sergeant for the past 30months plus and love every minute of it. I intend on serving until I get tired or my body gives out. I don't anticipate on either happening anytime soon.
