Today's Featured Biography
Robert Barrett
My degree is in early Early Childhood Education from Concordia College in Bronxville, New York. I served as pastor at New Covenant for twenty years. The church is a multicultural, creative, and multi and nondenominational church. My trade is food service and hospitality. I cook the meals at home. My wife cleans. While working as a bartender, people often confessed their stories to me. I gave them a scotch. Now when people confess those things, I offer them Jesus. I might still offer a scotch but not in the church. This year marks my silver anniversary as an ordained pastor.
Theater is my other vocation, and I was converted through a combination of acting roles and miraculous experiences in my family and church. Callanwolde Fine Arts Center and Young Audiences of the Woodruff Arts center contract me to write plays, direct, act, and teach theater. I am presently acting in a one man play about Benjamin Franklin, "Franklin", and writing two plays: "The Minister's Black Veil" and "Lord, Where are You Going?".
My wife, Daryl, and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary. We are going for the gold. She is a systems planner for Delta Airlines. She handles money and hygiene and I preach, cook, and write poems.
We have three beautiful kids who are all
at university. Patrick graduates this from University of Georgia. He leads worship and plays with a band, Unhindered. Izzy is studying Criminal Justice at Georgia State and hopes to become a criminal upon graduation(Kidding). She is a brilliant actor and works with me on occasion. Erin is at Georgia Southern and is a wonderful poet, waitress, and daughter. She is smart and she never loses arguments. Life is good.
