I graduated from WSU with an Elementary Education Degree and got hired by the Derby, KS school district. I got my masters in Education and Curriculum from WSU also.
Along the way I got married, to Jack Page. We had two wonderful kids, Samantha, 22 now married with a baby of her own. She’s in college and working full time so my husband and I help her out as much as we can. She’s our smart one, on the Dean’s list. My son, Trey, is 20 and after four years playing football and wrestling varsity he now wrestles for Labette Jr. College. In high school he won the 6A, Heavyweight wrestling, and took 7th at High School Nationals. This year he took 2nd in Nationals and his team took first place. Our precious granddaughter Aubrey is the joy of our life. I look forward to spending my free time with her.
I spent 30 years teaching 6th graders and decided to retire. Not wanting to work around kids ever again. Three months later I began working for Sarah Robinson at the Wichita Children’s Home. Well we lost the grant for my program and I became unemployed.
Judge Rob Rumsey asked me to start my own program. So as of October 2011, I opened "Visit and Exchange Program" or VEP. We do court ordered supervised visits/exchanges at a local church. It doesn't pay the bills, but it does a service to those parents that want to see their child, but have to be supervised.
My husband and I own our own business “SHIRTS HAPPEN” a screen printing and rhinestones operation. We are moving into the line of promotional products.
