Today's Featured Biography
Terry Love
After I graduated from North, I went to KCKJC and graduated from there. I earned my pilot's license. I entererd the U S Army. I flew with them for a few years. I did two tours in Vietnam. Met classmate Dave Olney over there. When I got out of the Army, I attended St. Louis University, and graduated from there in 1971. I was immediately hired by North Central Airlines which became Republic Airlines which became Northwest Airlines. I retired in 2005 and moved back "home" to Shawnee. I got married in 1973. I earned my Master's degree from the University of Detroit in 1976. We then moved to Minneapolis area and lived there until we retired. I attended the University of MInnesota for my PhD in history. When it got to my dissertation, (title - U S Army Aviation Fixed-Wing Operations in Southeast Asia 1961-1975), the liberal professors could not critic ANYTHING in the text, because they were all anti-military, so they were very critical on footnotes, etc. Since I did not need a PhD for my employment, I t old them to "pack sand", and took some data from my dissertation and wrote my first book - Grumman OV-1 Mohawk In Action. It sold fairly well - about 15,000 copies, so, since then, I have written another 15 books. My best one is "Wings Of Air America" Air America was an airline that was owned and operated by the CIA. I have written dozens of magazine articles also. I was chairman of the 45th SMN 1962 reunion. and I am also Chairman of the 50th reunion committee. We have a GREAT class, and lots of good friendships have been formed and reformed.
