Laurence Hemphill
I've spent the past 30 years in emergency services, I started my career as an EMT for Russell Co. EMS in 1983, moved to Hays and worked for Ellis Co. EMS in 1984, I then in May of 1985 moved to Salina. I've been with the Salina Fire Department for almost 28 years now.
I meet my wife Bethena here in Salina, we have 3 children 2 boys and a girl, and our baby girl is a sophomore now, can't believe that we will have an empty house in just 2 years, that part has gone way to fast.
I have had the opportunity to do many different things hobby wise (most of them involving a bow and arrows). I've work several different side jobs while with the Fire Department, from electrical work to welding to auto mechanics some construction work and even a few years coaching high school football.
As many others have stated "it is hard to believe it has been 30 years already"; but man what a trip it has been.
