After reading so many great bios, I thought I'd go ahead and post one... Following graduation from Rollins College, I spent one year each in Boston and Chicago before moving to Cincinnati for a two year (ha!) sales assignment in 1984... I married in 1987... had one child - a beautiful daughter, Alexandra, - in 1989... was a single parent by the time she was 18 months old... stayed in sales until 1996... when I fell in love with teaching and went back to school to get my Master's in Montessori Education… finished graduate school in '97 and remarried a lovely man, Doug Blankemeyer (12 years my senior) with four teenage children. We have been married and I have been teaching 1st-3rd grade at Sands Montessori - a Cincinnati Public Magnet School - for 11 years... Alex graduated from high school this May and will be attending Wittenberg University outside of Dayton beginning in August. My dear, sweet father died this past February after a heroic five year battle with cancer... I miss him so much! My equally dear, sweet husband was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's last year at the age of 60... Fortunately, thanks to medication he is doing remarkably well and we are still able to enjoy one another immensely, though it is very hard losing him slowly – bit by painful bit…
I’ve stayed in touch with only three people from LF - Vanessa Balbach, who is actually Alex's godmother, Kristi Sprouse, who lives in Davis and Barb Siff... Kristi is flying in from CA and we plan to attend the reunion together in August. I recently reconnected with several other high school pals via email and Facebook – Robin Barnes, Donna Shelton, Charlie Kinnucan and Julie Vitullo… It’s been very fun!
Thanks to everyone who has worked to make our reunion possible – I am REALLY looking forward to seeing everyone!!!
