Today's Featured Biography
Ted Young
I moved to Champaign, Illinois in 1993. Upon graduation from University of Illlinois in 2000, I joined Publication Services, a firm that specializes in front-end editorial and typesetting services for the publishing industry. My marathon hours editing the Sphinx newspaper at CHS finally paid off! For several years I served as Production Manager at PubServ, and since 2005 also as Director of Client Services. In 2008 I embarked on a new adventure, representing the firm as an account executive developing new business opportunities for the firm on the west coast. I travel out west about 50% of my time. It's been a challenge and a constant learning opportunity.
For the last eleven years I have been blessed with my spouse Jonathan Monroe at my side. Jonathan is a counselor for a Champaign based mental health agency and works with young adult populations in crisis. He is by all accounts my better half and I'm fortunate to have someone so patient and tolerant of my rougher edges! Our family at present consists of the two of us, a loving Labrador, a feisty miniature wiener dog, and a trio of feline companions. As we approach our 40's, we have begun to discuss expanding our family with a son or daughter of our own.
In my leisure time, I continue to pursue writing, as well as painting and culinary adventures. My love of popular music continues to broaden and deepen with every passing year. I'm a true gadget freak, and devout member of the Church of Apple, and single-handed do my best to buy up every Mac, iPod, and iPhone in sight.
I look forward to reconnecting with fellow classmates in June, introducing you to my partner Jonathan, and catching up on the last twenty years!
