20 Year Reunion Announcement!

MDHS 20 Year Class Reunion 7/20/07 - 7/22/07

Saturday,  July  1,  2017

And thanks go out to...

Well, the 20 year reunion has come and gone. I beleive that everyone who attended had a good time. I would like to thank a few people for the efforts they put forward to make this a successful reunion.

Steve Heikkila - Steve was the main driver behind getting this reunion put together. He really picked up the ball and ran with it. The contributions from him were too numerous to list, but I'll try anyways: Contacting people individually, creating and emailing announcements, collections agency, organizing Friday golf, organizing Saturday night's event, emcee, and beer drinker.

Jeremy Miller - Jeremy helped with food purchasing and delivery. He was especially responsible for having BOTH water AND soda at the Saturday picnic. He also provided the Friday night gymnastics and tumbling display.

Christy (Goodman) McCabe - Christy helped to organize Friday night at the Toll Station and also coordinated the Saturday picnic meat and cheese trays.

Tom and Lorie (Miller) Park - Tom and Lorie provided the musical support and slide show computer for Saturday nights dinner. Tom also supplied numerous hours of enjoyment by claiming to be long lost classmates.

Molly (Pearson) Gustavel - Molly coordinated the school opening so that we could all stroll down memory lane. She also made sure that we had tables for the picnic.

Suzanne (Russell) Mulay - Suzanne designed the class t-shirts. She also provided many of the photos for the Saturday slide show.

Brock and Teresa (Sanford) Leavitt - Teresa was very instrumental in locating many lost classmates. She was a very large "behind the scenes" person and our main McCall contact. She should also be thanked for marrying Brock, a man who has saved both our ten year reunion (beer) and our twenty (generator for the Jumpy Jump). Let me tell you from first hand experience: when there are twenty 3-10 year olds standing around an uninflated Jumpy Jump, things can get pretty scary. Thanks for saving me from the angry mob.

Trina Baum - Trina, through her contacts, was able to get the Jumpy Jump that almost cost me my life (see angry mob story above). Remember, for all your realtor needs... ;)

If I missed anyone, let me know.

And The Unofficial Award Goes To:

The "Longest Travel Award" goes to:
Kevin Patrick, traveling from Woodbribge, VA.

The "Athletic Ability Award" goes to:
Jeremy Miller, for his Toll Station acrobatic display.

The "Pickled Liver Award" goes to:
Ty Earls and Zach Muller for having a continuous buzz going for over 72 hours.

The "Tounge-in-Ear Award" goes to:
Zach Muller. Todd and I are going to need therapy. Enough said...

The "I Didn't Plan This Out Very Well Award" goes to:
Todd Wall, for staying in a tent with, was it 3 or 4, children. By the way, I think Todd is willing to sell a few of them if anyone is interested.

The "I Thought My Bar Tab Would Be Bigger Award" goes to:
Todd Wall, for never having to buy his wife a drink (Thanks Brock). Maybe you could use the money you saved to get a hotel room next time ;)

The "I Thought My Bar Tab Would be Smaller Award" goes to:
Brock Leavitt. Did no one tell you that Kathy Wall could really put it away?

The "Coolest Rock Band Never To Have Existed Award" goes to:
The Bogas Toads. They were there, but their musical talent was still missing.

Today's Featured Biography

Holly Williams Doering

Right after I graduated from the University of Idaho, I moved to Tokyo, Japan, with a sorority sister (AGD) and taught English there for two years. Cycled around India, Thailand/Malaysia and the Chiba penninsula in Japan. Went to Germany for the wedding of my friend Nicola "Coco" Nagele...some of you may remember her from when the Germans visited McCall junior year. My mom came over too and we went to Denmark as that is where her people are from.
Moved to Virginia and wrote for the Westmoreland News newspaper, then toured Highway 101 from Victoria to San Francisco with some British friends.
Got Type 1 Diabetes in 1998 and moved back to McCall, working for the Long Valley Advocate newspaper and hung out with Mary (Valdez) Jordan.
Moved up to Spokane to go to graduate school at Eastern in creative writing. I worked as the Senior Editor in the marketing department at Oxyfresh, then switched to Auntie's Bookstore where I still edit the newsletter. I just picked up another part-time job at our local Better Business Bureau.
In my free time I tutor kids in math and English, and freelance for Spokane & Coeur d'Alene Living Magazine, and a website called Foreword Reviews.com.
I've had a short story published in a literary review called ZYZZYVA and travel essays published at sevenseasmagazine.com. and am currently working on a novel.
My husband Jeff, of 3 years, is the Asst. Manager at Waldenbooks in the Valley Mall. This fall, we purchased our first house. It's in the historic Nettleton's Adddition section of West Central and was built in 1908.
No kids but we do have an 8-year old German Shepherd/Border Collie mix called Katy and an orange cat called Nala.
In my spare time I love kayaking, quilting, writing, reading, travelling and gardening. Oh, and watching Gonzaga basketball games. Go, Zags!
Sorry this profile is novel-length but...I am a writer!
