Norma Jean "Jeanie" Harvey Jackson
Norma Jean “Jeanie” Jackson, 70, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Mary Greeley Hospital located in Ames, Iowa.
Memorial services for Jeanie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Judy Marshall officiating. Public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until services begin at 11:00 a.m., where Jeanie’s family will be present to greet friends. Born Norma Jean Harvey, on October 27, 1943, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Hie and Goldie (Daniels) Harvey. She was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1961.
Jeanie was united in marriage to Gene Jackson on June 6, 1964, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Jeanie was employed with JC Penney’s, the Iowa Heart Association in Mason City and Lennox. She had a passion for reading, looking up information for others on her computer and spending time with her family. In addition to other activities, she was a member of NARVRE. Jeanie’s genuine spirit of caring will live on as she was a tissue and organ donor through the Iowa Donor Network.
Left to cherish her memory is Gene, her loving husband of nearly 50 years; her children: Jimmy (Bonnie) Jackson and Jay (Debi) Jackson; grandchildren: Taylor, Austin, and Jacob Jackson; her sister, Mary Jo (Dennis) Henze; and sister and brother-in-law, Janet (Jackson) and Mike Clark.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Connie Eslinger, sister and brother-in-law Joan (Jackson) and Rick Dannen, and her in-laws.
