9/15/2011 Bill Slatkin's Poem about East
I’ve been surfing the Classreport website,
find slightly familiar names and faces.
Search the archives of my memory for matches,
with only vague recognition in most cases.
. . .
Professional life: After graduating from the University of Arizona with a B. A. in French, I attended Middlebury College in Vermont for an M. A. in French. Taught for years and years and years…..and more years.
Personal life: I have visited and studied in multiple countries always trying to master French and Spanish. Some of these adventures were: an archaeological dig in Cote d’Ivoire, multiple study programs in France (including Fulbright teacher exchange to Gien, France), study in Spain/Costa Rica, a job in Switzerland, and one non-language related dolphin study with Earthwatch in Hawaii. I’m still single but there’s still hope. I have been hanging out for the last 2 years with a very cute dentist (anyone need an implant?). UPDATE: WE GOT MARRIED Sept.8, 2012.
Present life: I walk my collie Cousteau, get together for dinner with friends, get up to ski occasionally, play a little piano , sub a little, attend Toastmaster’s meetings, spend time with the dentist and go to as many classical music concerts as possible at the Colorado Symphony and in Vail (Bravo Music Festival). I spend the rest of my time trying to figure out an excuse to go back to France to visit friends and to drink some café au lait.
