Well, After High School I had one summer off. Then I started working with the Forest service in 1990. While working in the summer, I went to college in the winter, and finally received a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. There I met my husband in 1992. We have been together ever since. I faught wildland fires for 11 years before I got pregnant with our first child, Amanda. She was a great reason to stay home and not go away on fires all summer. I went to the office and did administrative duties for about a year and a half. It was a very hard transition. In 2002 we moved to Wyoming. And it is very true what they say about the cold winters because in 2003, after our first winter there, I was pregnant with our second child, Gary. I think he has the the wild of Wyoming in him today! Well, in the spring of 2005 we moved back to San Diego. My husband went back to construction and I went back to work for the Forest Service. I did get out of the office, though. Now I am back in the field, outside every day and loving it. I don't go away on fires anymore, but that is ok. We live in Santee, Ca now. We have a cute little house that needs some TLC, slow but sure. My daughter attends a spanish emersion elementary school and is becoming bilingual, and my son is still in preschool. I can't wait to see everyone.
