Today's Featured Biography
LARRY WOOD
After I graduated from Pittsburg High School, I went to San Jose State University and majored in mathematics. I married Joyce (Clark class of 1960) in 1962. I graduated with a BA in Mathematics in 1963. We had our first child, Lynette, in 1963. My first job was with Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica as an Assembly Language Computer Programmer in 1963. We were not happy in Santa Monica, CA, so I interviewed with Lockheed Aircraft of Sunnyvale, CA and was hired as a Systems Computer Analyst in 1965. We moved to San Jose, CA and purchased a house. We had two more boys, David in 1964 and Daniel in 1970. I continued college and graduated with a MS degree in Cybernetics Systems in 1977.
We moved to Scotts Valley in 1977, CA into our new home, a vacation home, built by Post Cereal owner in 1943. He came to visit us every year until he died.
Joyce and I divorced in 1982 and I married Connie in 1986. Connie died of breast cancer on July 4, 1989, Independence Day.
Still having seniority with Lockheed Aircraft, I went to Dialog in 1985 as a Computer Systems Engineer, a subsidiary of Lockheed.
I met Barbara at Santa Cruz Bible Church in 1991 and we married on July 11, 1992. Barbara has two daughters, Lori and Elizabeth. Lori became a missionary to Bolivia and Elizabeth married Ken the same year Barbara and I married in 1992. In 1997, Dialog was purchased by a hostile company and they laid-off about 300 Dialog people. I took Lockheed retirement and Barbara and I moved to Bothell, WA to be with Elizabeth and Ken as they have four daughters and Barbara wanted to play her role of grandmother with them. We owned a five acre, four bedroom, 3500 square feet, two story home right in the middle of the city of Bothell.
While in Bothell, I worked for BEST Consulting and AT&T Wireless as a Computer Software Test Engineer. Barbara and I were looking to retire soon, so we bought a house in Green Valley, AZ in 2002 to be built in the next two years.
Circumstances changed our decision and we initiated our house to be built in 2003 in Quail Creek. We moved into our new home in February 2004. Barbara trained for a real estate license and was hired by Robson Communities to be a sales representative at Quail Creek in November of 2003. Barbara sold many houses in Quail Creek and due to an illness had to quit her job in 2007.
Barbara is now a RE/MAX Realtor for Green Valley and Sahuarita. She has several listings and has sold several houses. Look at her Website when you get a chance. And, by the way, I am her Webmaster.
I am retired of course and I have been doing most of the housework, while Barbara does her real estate work. Some other activities that I have are tutoring for OASIS, AWANA Director for JOURNEY 24/7 at Amado Baptist Church, Grace Church of Sahuarita member and photographer, Green Valley Stamp & Coin club member, and Sonora Astronomical Society (SAS) Secretary. I'm busier now than when I was working!

"Season's Greetings to everyone at Classreport. May your Holidays be filled with Joy and Peace."

"I can't say enough about what this site has done for our reunion committee. As the person who maintains the class page I have to say I am impressed. I am able to use my web design background to benefit the class without the hassle of paying for a domain and hosting fees or hosting myself. I really like the fact that the alumni have the choice to contribute and it is not mandatory. It takes a lot of stress away from those who may not be able to afford monthly fees but still want to stay in touch. The alumni can see how everyone is doing and what everyone is up to. The additional resources you provide will be put to good use for our reunion. Thank you to your team for all your hard work in maintaining your system."
