Today's Featured Biography

Andrew Foltz

After 30 years a lot has happened and most, if not all of it has been good. I left the Hueneme/Oxnard area in 1976 in search of bigger and better things letting the U.S. Army send me to many places. While in Basic training in Ft. Sill OK., I ran into Rusty Smith of all people, then on to Ft. Lewis WA. where I ran into Bernie Lowe then Ferguson. I always stayed pretty busy there since a couple of the folks I was in basic with were musicians and we got together and played till our fingers bled. I played with many talented people which made me a better player too.
After reenlisting in 79 I went to Ft. Gordon GA for almost a year of training and then on to Heidelberg Germany...folks I had a blast there and hated to leave in 83 but the civilian life was calling. If you ever get a chance to go there by all means do!
Moving back to the states in White Salmon WA., I did some community work to stay busy, you can see some of my handy work in the town park...I helped build that gazebo there.
Anyhow, long story short...I ended up in Oxnard and working for the Navy on San Nicolas Island for almost 9 years and then on Santa Cruz for 4 years. Life now has me working at China Lake (Ridgecrest) still working for the Navy and wishing I could retire.
I have two great daughters now 16 and 13.
