I started working for the Department of Defense in January 1979 as an Accounting Technician in the Supply Department at Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Arizona. In 1982, I transferred to San Diego, California where my husband became a Drill Instructor. I was then selected as an Accounting Technician at the Supply and Comptroller Department, Naval Station, San Diego, California. I remained in this position until my husband received orders in August 1984 back to Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Arizona, where I accepted a position as Military Personnel Clerk for Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron. In November of 1984, I accepted the secretary position to the Commanding Officer of the Air Station. I held this position until my husband received orders once again back to California in August of 1987, but this time to Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton. In November of 1987, I accepted a Clerk Typist position with the Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton. Five months later in April of 1988, I accepted the position of Supervisory Accounting Technician, with Base Food Service. In December of 1990, I was promoted to Supervisory Budget Analyst and continued in this position until October 1993. At this time, I was promoted to Food Service Manager, Deputy Director for Base Food Service. In October 2002, I was additionally assigned as the Regional Contracting Officer’s Representative. I continue to support all that the Marine Corps does and looking forward to retiring when I turn 60 or when we hit the lottery. Our oldest son, Richie is running a restaurant at the Miramar Air Station. Our youngest, Robbie, is a junior at UCSD majoring in computer science. My husband and I are really involved with our church, he is one of our pastors. We host two small groups during the week and I am on the worship team.
Hope to see all at our 35th Reunion!!!!
