50 Year Reunion Announcement!
Fifty years out of SHS does not seem possible. “Laissez les bon temps rouler” or “Let the Good Times Roll” will be our theme. The Reunion Committee has selected SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2009 for our celebration. Save the date, mark your calendar, and make plans to come.
The following events have been scheduled:
1:00-3:30 pm Class Gathering at Har-Ber High School located at 300 Jones Road for a reunion visit and an optional tour of the beautiful new high school in Springdale. (Our Springdale High School is currently undergoing extensive renovations.) To reach Har-Ber High School from the intersection of 71 and Highway 412, you will travel west on Highway 412 (the old Highway 68 West) toward Tontitown for 3.9 miles to reach Jones Road. From the intersection of I-540 and 412 it is 1.3 miles to Jones Road. Turn right (north) at the stoplight at Jones Road.
5:30-11:00 pm Reunion Dinner and Celebration at the new clubhouse at the Springdale Country Club. The club is still located at the intersection of Highway 71 and Lakeview Road. A class picture will be taken at 6:00 and the buffet dinner will be served at 7:00. We have planned a short program, some entertainment, and time for a lot of reminiscing. The dress for both events is casual.
The cost for the reunion is $35 per person. If you plan to attend, please send your reservation check made to VIRGIL HARMON/CLASS OF 1959 for $35 per person. Also, please include the names of any guests that will be attending with you. The deadline for reservations is September 15, 2009. No reservations will be accepted after September 15. If you need overnight accommodations, the Residence Inn, 1740 S. 48th Street in Springdale is saving a block of rooms for us until the end of September. They have offered a special rate as well as a meeting room for class members to gather and visit. The rate for a single unit is $74 plus 12.75% tax per night. Two bedroom units are also available for a slightly higher rate. Call 1-479-872-9100 or 1-800-228-9290 to make your reservations. This hotel is located near the intersection of I-540 and US 412 west. Be sure to mention “SHS 50th Reunion” for the special rate on Friday and/or Saturday nights. Of course, you are free to make other arrangements if you choose; Springdale has many other nice hotel and motel facilities.
In lieu of a booklet we have established a webpage at www.classreport.org. If you have not already done so, please visit our webpage and register. Once you have registered, you can go to the webpage at any time and see updates related to the reunion, read bios written by classmates, see slide shows, leave messages for classmates, and basically keep in touch.

I just got through adding 45 more selection to the original 40 tunes on our jukebox. We've got 85 up right now! Some are 50's but some are early country, rock n' roll and some up into the 60

I spent 20 years in the US Foreign Service living in Africa, Europe and SE Asia. I returned to the USA in 1995. I live in FL during the winter with a condo in Lighthouse Point, but most of the time is spent in Key West on a 40 ft trawler called Morgan. We have begun to move our summers back home to Fayetteville where Kirk grew up. We own a townhouse in Fayetteville and spend about six months of the year there. My life has been a full one and I'm grateful for the experiences and the lovely folks that I've met along the way. It has been my experience that we all come home sooner or later. I'm looking forward to the reunion as I believe 50 years is indeed a special reunion. Many thanks to those classmates who have made this possible.
