Once a Trojan, Always a Trojan! LOL. Still reside in good ol' Troy, AL. I have been employed by the State of Alabama for the past twenty years (as of 5/27/09). 5 more to go to before even considering retirement. LOL. All family members are doing fine. (Too many to list!!!) As I drive by the old high school on my daily commute, I can still visualize the tall pines, the good friends, basketball games and "Break Time!". Those were the days!
The seasons are changing and so am I, I'm starting to tell my childhood goodbye. I'm not the little child I used to be, In some ways I'm different entirely. It's a little sad to see children play, To think I will never again be that way. Perhaps it is the future I fear, Fear of losing something of the past That is very dear. Unlike loved ones, time we cannot hold; We pass by a mirror and realize it has Made us old. It's just that the minutes, hours, and days Go by so fast. Yes, it seems just like yesterday That we were small, Then suddenly years come upon us And it doesn't seem like time at all. Trying so hard to keep up with today, Memories of good times fading away. Growing up is hard to do when you Want to enjoy life's moments which are so few. I might always be a child at heart And for me that will be much harder to part. The seasons are changing and so am I And I must begin to tell my childhood Goodbye.
