Today's Featured Biography
Felicia (LaSharm) Thomas Washington
After graduating CHS, I matriculated at Alabama A&M University where I received a B.S. degree in Secondary Education and Social Science in 1993. I relocated to Florida where obtained my first teaching job at Deerfield Beach Middle School. My daughter Lauryn Makenzie was born Feb. 14th 1999, while I was working on my master's. In August 2000 I received a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and became the assistant principal at our alma mater - South Girard! I absolutely loved this job and enjoyed working with the children of some of my old classmates (i.e Paris Watkins and Vanessa Preer Watkins' daughter played basketball for SGS while I was there-can ya'll believe that!) While at South Girard I finished my specialist degree at Troy State University in School Administration On March 20, 2004 I was married to Rev. Richard Allen Washington of Columbus (yes, I'm preacher's wife, but Tina and Darrell know I'm still the same old Lasharm!). In June 2004, he was selected to be the pastor of First A.M.E. Church in Athens, GA. We officially moved to Athens in July 2004. I became an assistant principal at Winterville Elementary and I am presently the assistant Gaines Elementary School. On December 19, 2006 - my son, Richard Allen Washington II was born. After leaving South Girard I remained a "bulldog". In my family's spare time, we enjoy going to the University of Georgia football and basketball games.
