Hmmm.. where to begin:

Married for 7 yrs (no kids). then divorced and re-married in 2005 to Tobie Putman (a bond trader for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation), now at Denali State Bank. We have a cute little monkey (girl) named Farah Ann born this spring.

Graduated from UAF School of Engineering (Mechanical) in 1992 (or thereabouts) where I had studied in Sweden my last semester of college (a blast!).

Came back to run the family business immediately after graduation. Switched to consulting engineering after a couple of years of that... worked briefly in Saudi Arabia. Went back to work at the family business running large projects. And then...

The brewery.... constructed in 1997 and opened in Feb 1998, thus making me the owner/co-founder of America's Most Northern Brewery... growth has been steady, and we are currently expanding production. On the bright side, we will most likely have the bar/restaurant up and running (after 10 years of politics) in time for the 20 year reunion... free beer for all!

Now (also) running the family business (sheet metal contracting), where a past job was the major renovation of Lathrop High School (amusing, indeed...). Current projects include all Missile Defense work at Ft. Greely, Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, GVEA North Pole Power Plant, assorted barracks projects at Ft.WW, completion of the UAF Museum, Pogo Mine project (middle of nowhere), a pile of elementary schools, the list goes on...

Studied (for a bunch of months) and passed my Professional Engineering (P.E.) examination (like the bar exam for lawyers, only harder, and more useful), so I'm now 'edumacated' and liable for design errors (yay).

Needless to say, it has been a busy past 18 years... but wait, there's more!

I'm past president (and current Chairman of the Board) of the Alaska Cabaret, Restaurant, Retailers Association (CHARR), which represents the bars, restaurants, liquor stores (and breweries) in Alaska. So, I get to be the face of the 'big, bad liquor industry' in Alaska, and address all sorts of political issues (which gets me to Juneau a couple of times a year, and D.C. occasionally).

I have enjoyed traveling extensively through Europe during my last semester of schooling (UAF - Mechanical Engineering exchange program in northern Sweden), and in subsequent work (to Middle East), and Vacations (to Italy).

The list goes on... I can only hope the next 20 years is as interesting and challenging (in the good ways).

I also hope that everyone else has had as many interesting challenges (or even a fraction thereof) to keep them sharp, and happy.
