I left Anchorage in 1989 and attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa ID for a year, and half a year at the University of the Virgin Islands on St Thomas. Returning to Anchorage, I worked for Princess Tours and Cruises for a total of 10 years between the Anchorage and Seattle offices. After leaving Anchorage for good in 1995, I moved to Seattle and met my partner Jim. We will celebrate 13 years in May. Together we owned a nightclub and bar in the Seattle Area called Timberline. At the peak, we entertained 1200 people every Sunday afternoon for 70s disco T-Dance. It was a truly amazing experience.
In 2006 we closed the business and moved to Lincoln City OR for a slower pace of life. I work for a non profit hospital foundation that is the fundraising arm for Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. I help raise money for the purchase of equipment that saves lives and adds to the quality of life for residents of Lincoln County. My partner Jim is a part time paramedic and a volunteer fire fighter with North Lincoln Fire and Rescue. Volunteer work and fundraising has become a way of life for us. We both have experienced life in the fast lane, and we had everything we ever wanted, but we feel truly blessed to be able to give of ourselves and give back to a community that embraces people and diversity.
If you feel like you have note succeeded in life or feel empty, volunteer! Giving back is the greatest gift you can give.
