Ramstein Junior High School Class of 1964 Celebrates 50 Year Reunion!
Alumni from Ramstein Junior High School Class of 1964 are participating in a fifty year celebration with a Class Reunion July 18th, 2014 in Reno, Nevada.
Who can believe it has been fifty years since our middle school days in Ramstein, Germany!
Let’s not let another year go by without the opportunity for all of us to get together to get reacquainted and make new friends.
Class members Patrick Geary and Christy Heinrich have volunteered to serve as Class Administrators and primary contacts while a ‘reunion committee’ is established.
Preliminary plans include 3 days of reminiscing and fun in Reno, Nevada.

Today's Featured Biography
After leaving Ramstein in 1964, we went to the Netherlands for two years, and then to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I graduated high school. I went to college at Antioch, but it took a long time, since I had to drop out to protest the war, become a draft resister, etc,but finally graduated in '74. I had a short marriage to a woman I like better now than we were together. I met my wife, Rebecca Moore, in an Antioch classroom, and after finding ourselves at the same events and workplaces time after time in the relatively large city of Washington, DC, figured it out and got together. We have been together for 35 years. I wake up every day knowing how lucky I am to be with her.
We adopted a sibling group of three kids -- at once -- in 1981, two older kids and a 10-month-old. The two older kids are well, but Hillary -- who had congestive heart failure (and we knew it at the tine of the adoption) died at age 15. She has been our model for strength and grace in time of adversity.
I had a number of jobs in the public interest/political field -- antiwar, anti-draft, anti-nuke, pro-environment -- but inadvertently found my calling in 1978, with the deaths of 918 people in Jonestown, Guyana -- including my wife's two sisters and our nephew. We were in DC at the time, and became the eyes and ears on the ground for Peoples Temple in California, which was looking for answers from a bureaucracy 3000 miles away. In the course of the intervening 34 years, Becky (that's Dr. Moore to her students in her religious studies classes at San Diego State) has written six books on Jonestown, and we have a website which is both the support network for survivors and the largest concentration of personal and academic research on the Temple and its members. It is gratifying work. There's also a lot left to be done. As I look around my office, I see 20 years of work ahead of me, not including coffee breaks. That should be enough…
