Jason Alford

After returning from Germany in 1989, I enrolled in college and graduated from the University of West Florida in 1994 with a degree in International Studies. However, my sense of patriotism and maturing college loans forced me into enlisting in the Army for 4 years and I got to see wonderful places such as Korea, Hungary, bushes, mud and rain. (You get the idea) The army did allow for me to enjoy Germany again with an assignment to Wiesbaden Germany for a couple of years.

After leaving the Army I found a job in the sunny state of Florida working for a county school district in the field that would become my career track of choice…IT. I decided in 1999 that in order to progress in my career I would need to go back to school and earn another degree. In 2000, I graduated from Troy State University with a degree in Computer Information Science. This would be a fruitful decision because in 2004 I would land a job working with the Army again. This time I would work for the Army as a government civilian.

In 2004, I moved to Darmstadt, Germany. My job allowed for me to take full advantage of Europe by allowing me to travel all over Europe and see places and do things I had missed the first time around. I really enjoy working here and I will continue to enjoy it until my scheduled return date in January 2009.

In April 2008, I accepted a promotion in Fort Meade Maryland where I currently reside. So far it's been fun and I look forward to seeing the area.
