Alice Theoret Bourque

Hello old friends,
This will be a short bio, because when I sit down to write, I think "where on earth will I start?"

Ron & I both attended STHS, and met in our last year. He chased me until I slowed down, and eventually he took me to our Senior Prom. I will always remember that he gave me an ORCHID, when all the other girls had roses! (I knew then that this guy was a 'keeper'.) Our best friends were Mike Lavoy and Pat Labelle, and the 4 of us hung around together alot. And who could forget our good friend, Margie Blaho? I wonder where they are now?

I guess everybody figured we would ride off into the sunset together, and we did! Ron went to work right after HS, and I took the almost-prerequisite 'secretary course'. In 1967, we got married as our Centennial Project, and had our reception at the old Edgewater Hotel. Four years later saw us with Donna, Debbie & Laurie.

We moved several times between the West Island and Moncton, NB, with both Ron & I changing careers several times. He was successful in Sales, and I was a successful homemaker until eventually I moved on to other careers: executive Secretary (now called Admin. Person), and then Real Estate Manager with Century 21. In 1985 we finally decided we liked the atmosphere and pace of the Maritimes better, and moved back to Moncton. We owned and managed Duke Dist. Ltd., a wholesale Upholstery Supply and Fabric company, there not being any in the Maritimes. In 2000, we sold it to our son-in-law and took off for greater adventures.

We sold our house, and almost all that we owned, bought an old Dutch Canal Boat, and cruised down to the Florida Keys - taking 11 months to get there. We saw many places on the way down, and now the boat is still in Florida. We drive down each year, and spend 3-6 months on it, just cruising around.

In the meantime, our daughters were having our beautiful grand-kids: 2 girls and 2 boys: Caitlin (Donna, and Kayla, Ryan and Justin (Debbie). Laurie doesn't have any - she is too busy having fun with her husband! So, you can see, we try to lead a calm and peaceful life (until the grand-kids come to visit).

We recently bought a big, old house in Salisbury, NB so we can live with Debbie & her 3 kids for the 6 months we are home in Canada. We consider ourselves semi-retired, and 'LIVING LIFE TO IT'S FULLEST'.
