It takes many hands to ensure the success of an event of this size and we could really use the help! There are lots of opportunities for anyone interested in volunteering. It's a great way to get involved, catch up with old friends and make some new ones. Join the reunion Committee and one of many sub-committees and enjoy the new friends and many benefits that accrue to volunteers – like initiative, leadership skills, creativity and consensus building ~ all career builders on your resume!
Full Reunion Committee meeting dates are posted on the front page. Sub-committees meet at the convenience of the members.

V M C Reunion Jitters simply melt away! Join us in the Beer Garden!
Anyone who has been to a high school reunion knows there is a certain amount of anxiety associated with attending a reunion. As the reunion approaches your mind becomes flooded with thoughts. Will there be anyone there I know? What if my old boyfriend or girlfriend is there? What if nobody remembers me? What if I don't recognize classmates or remember their names? I've put on weight. I've gone gray. I've lost my hair. I'm not that successful. What if I run into someone I didn't get along with at Massey?
Relax! You are not alone in these thoughts. Everyone else is having the same exact thoughts and reunion jitters. Don't let these thoughts get in the way of attending Massey’s 50th reunion.
Bottom line is we have all changed. So what! None of us are 17 anymore. The laws of gravity and time catch up with all of us eventually. Changes are an inevitable fact of life. Accept yourself for who you are. Be yourself. Celebrate life's changes. Relax and go and have a good time. Letting such negative thoughts impact your decision to attend may result in your missing out on a wonderful time. Remember the drinking age was still 21 til September 1971!!
Focus your thoughts instead on the positive aspects of attending. This is an opportunity to go out and have some fun once every 25 years, renew old friendships, catch up with each others’ lives, to celebrate your youth in Fort Garry and feel young again (if only for a moment), to reminisce about the good old days, [those 60’’s & 70’s et al], to share time with old friends while we are still able to, to celebrate our changes. You will quickly find that people are not there to judge you but are there for the same reasons you are, to have a great time and touch their past. It can be a wonderfully rejuvenating experience. When it is over we can take comfort in the fact that we have all changed, we've all gone down different paths in life but that we all still share a common bond and enjoy a good party.
Here's some tips to help you relax at Massey’s 50th reunion:
- Be yourself and be proud of who you are. - Go with an attitude of having fun.
- Dress comfortably, but be prepared for spring weather vagaries.[look it up in the dictionary]
- Remember everyone will have changed. You're not alone.
-Connect with a few close schoolmates beforehand and go to the reunion together.
- It's perfectly ok to not remember somebody. Our memories all fade.
Thats why name tags were invented!

A FINAL FAREWELL
What a great time to relax and mingle at your own pace! The whole family is welcome so bring mom and dad, and the kids and grandkids. Noon til 4:00 pm at the main picnic site adjacent to the parking lot at *Crescent Drive Park. Close enough to walk, jog or bike over as well.
Its a final opportunity to get addresses and phone numbers of alumni you found at the reunion, exchange pictures, pick up a logo’d souvenir and order a memories book!
Dress is ‘outdoors casual’ and bring a chair or blanket. Join us after church or before you leave our wonderful Winnipeg to make your way home. We know you’ll have a terrific time and agree when we say “We Have Come a Long Way!” { there are no fees for this event }
